Junior Game Team Project (Spring 2026)

Bring Da Beat Back is a rhythm-based beat-em-up set in the fictional city of Carmenja, which was taken over by the evil music mafia, Nulltone. You play as a rebellious teenager, Beatrix, along with her robot companion Cube, as you fight your way through the city center, taking down Nulltone's robot enforcers to bring music back to the city.

The following is a sample of the dialogue for the game’s main antagonist, Synthslayer — a pop-star-turned-evil-mafia-boss — as Beatrix and Cube take back the Nulltone speaker towers. Each line shows his progression as he is slowly entranced by the beat, converting back to his former self while growing more frustrated at Beatrix and Cube’s progress.

Synthslayer’s Dialogue

"To any nearby Enforcers, I'm getting an unknown signal coming from the Nulltone Plaza Speaker Network. One of you go resolve this issue, or I'll have you all working at the DMV for a month!"

"There's music playing in Nulltone Plaza? This is unacceptable! I want this problem solved. Don't make me get involved!

Stupid beats. They're making me rhyme again…"

"We had another speaker get lost? Do any of you know how much this will cost?! Send reinforcements on the double, before these perps cause any more trouble!

Grr! I just can't stop rhyming! Now my anger level is climbing!

RAAAH! Stop that beat!"

"You fools let them get tower four? Don't you all realize there's only one more?! These Enforcers are such a sorry sight. Now it all hinges on one final fight.

That's right, girl! Time to settle the score.

Let's see if you can really beat us on the top floor!"
